They may be in one of the many far flung corners of the world or they may be closer to home but rest assured, the Alumni of Ballymena Academy are everywhere.
In our 50th anniversary year of moving to the site on the Galgorm Road, we are reaching out to alumni and friends of the school and encouraging them to share their experiences of the school and how that experience contributed to what they are now doing in life.
Whether it was freezing to death on a windswept rugby or hockey pitch, participating in the annual school play or making new friends at one of the many after-school clubs, we all now probably realise that the school provided far more than an academic education. It set the foundations to allow everyone who walked through the doors to develop character, resilience and self-reliance and it instilled a sense of affinity and community that few other schools in Northern Ireland can match.
