JrCU Crystal Maze evening
On Wednesday 18th April Ballymena Academy JrCU held a Crystal Maze event in the Sixth Form Centre from 7-9pm. This was a joint event with guests from Cambridge House Grammar School Junior Scripture Union. Miss Morrow opened the evening with a word of prayer and then explained how the programme for the evening would work. The pupils then divided themselves into teams of up to 10 people to complete a variety of challenges in 8 different zones. Teams only had 5 minutes in each zone with a 5 minute break for some snacks and juice.
Jack Spence & Jonny Hunter from Senior CU then led us in 2 worship songs, before Bethan McLaughlin interviewed our special guest, Peter Browne an Ulster Rugby player. He shared his thoughts on his dad who inspires him, how he became a Christian & what God means to him, before challenging us to take time to read the Bible ourselves to help us get to know Jesus & live well for Him.
Miss Morrow then announced that the team who had ironically named themselves “The Failures” had won Crystal Maze & presented them with medals & prizes. She also said a huge thank you to Peter & Mrs Browne (aka Miss Gray) who were presented with a gift & some flowers as a thank you from JrCU.
After closing in prayer, it was time to go home, but judging by the comments and smiles as the pupils left, a good time was had by all.
Special thanks must also go to the senior helpers from JrCU & their friends for running the challenges & helping to make the evening such a success.
Report and photographs thanks to Mrs. Wilson.
