“Intelligence with character – that is the goal of true education”

MARTIN LUTHER KING

‘Give Your Year’ is an initiative for every former pupil of Ballymena AcademyIt is an opportunity to enable them to support the school and to provide enhanced experiences for our current pupils.

With ‘Give Your Year’ the year in which you left Ballymena Academy is the determinant of your contribution. If you left in 1994 your tax deductable contribution might be £19.94, £199.40 or even £1994. The digits of your year of leaving form the digits of the sum donated.

Our goal is to raise £25,000

Help Us Maintain Excellence

Your donations help the school to provide experiences for our pupils beyond those that are funded by the government.

A £20 donation could help in several ways

Co-Curricular sport is not government funded.

Three £20 donations might be used to hire a lead actor’s costumes and props for an Academy Players production.

Co-Curricular drama is not government funded.

Ten £20 donations might be used to cover the school’s contribution towards the transport costs for one away sports fixture.

Co-Curricular sport is not government funded.

Twenty £20 donations might be used to fund the music copyright fees for the Chamber Choir to perform at the Annual Spring Concert.

Co-Curricular music is not government funded.

Thank you to all of our donors, who can be found listed by year group below. Whether it was freezing to death on a windswept rugby or hockey pitch, participating in the annual school play or making new friends at one of the many after-school clubs, we all now probably realise that Ballymena Academy provided far more than an academic education. It set the foundations to allow everyone who walked through the doors to develop character, resilience and self-reliance and it instilled a sense of affinity and community that few other schools in Northern Ireland can match.
