Mr Ross Completes The Laugavegur Ultra Marathon (Iceland)
Congratulations to Mr R Ross, who yesterday completed the Laugavegur Ultra Marathon (Iceland) in 7 hours 48 minutes.
Weather on the 55Km/34miles off-road course was 13C with some fog on the highest mountain section. The route had a number of sections over snow (8km), volcanic ash and rope-assisted river crossings.
He reports that the scenery was absolutely breathtaking, with lunar landscapes dominant – it was a challenging day out!
Mr Ross was a member of a team of 4 running in aid of two special causes;
Air Ambulance NI and,
Claire Robinson, working with SIM in Zambia in education.
